Yasmin Hernandez, M.S., CCC-SLP

Yasmin Hernandez, M.S., CCC-SLP, received her Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the California State University, Sacramento. She has been practicing as a licensed speech-language pathologist for over a decade. Yasmin completed an autism certification program through the University of California, Davis (UC Davis). She also completed the Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS) training Certification through the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She is licensed by the California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board and holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

Yasmin is the recipient of an ACE Award from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association for her dedication to continuing education in the field of Speech-Language Pathology. She has several specialty training and certifications to better serve the people in her community.

Yasmin completed formal training in Social Thinking® methodology through the Michelle Garcia Winner Social Thinking Mentor Training Program in 2010 and later completed the Social Thinking intensive Clinical Training Program in 2019. She has attended numerous Michelle Garcia Winner conferences, completed training in Lindamood-Bell Visualizing and Verbalizing®, LIPS Program®, and completed the Wilson Reading Systems introductory course in 2022. She is committed to being a lifelong learner.

Professional Experience

Yasmin has worked with children in early intervention, school-aged, adolescents, and adults. She has experience in public schools, private practice, and outpatient facilities. She has extensive experience as an SLP in school districts and private practice, providing diagnostic and treatment services to individuals with speech, language, and social impairments, including articulation, voice, receptive, expressive language, and social skills. Yasmin has collaborated with other professionals as part of a multidisciplinary team to meet the unique needs of both general education and SDC students with multiple diagnoses.

She has experience providing therapy to individuals from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and has extensive experience assessing and providing therapy for Spanish-speaking individuals. Yasmin is a Bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist (English & Spanish).

Yasmin’s vision for the practice has been focused on evidence-based practices with an individual approach to therapy. Her approach is tailored to the client’s individual needs. She believes in fostering and maintaining strong, trusting relationships with clients and their families through communication and collaboration. Her clinical interests include articulation/phonological disorders, receptive and expressive language development, literacy development, accent modification, fluency (stuttering), and social skills.
